Please join us for the second annual Florida Blue Foundation-Florida Combined Life (FCL) Medical-dental Integration (MDI) Symposium, which will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 2 to 6 p.m. EDT. This year’s program will focus on MDI for the 65 and older population. There is no cost to attend this continuing education program.
The keynote speaker will be Jennifer Webster-Cyriaque, D.D.S., Ph.D., professor of medicine and dentistry at the University of North Carolina and deputy director at the National Institute for Dental and Cranial Research. Best known or her work on HIV and the Zika virus, Dr. Webster-Cyriaque will provide a global view of the aging process from clinical and research perspectives.
Dr. Teresa (Terri) Dolan, president of Santa Fe Group, president-elect of the American College of Dentists, chief dental officer of Overjet and former dean of the University of Florida will discuss the common sense and science behind oral and systemic health. Paul Kaplan, M.D., of Florida Blue will speak about oral health before overall health. Other topics include interoperability in senior health care, normalizing MDI for patients, and the results of a survey about what seniors want and need in health care.
A question-and-answer session will follow. Please refer to the event agenda for more details.
You and your dental and administrative staff can earn four CEUs through the American Academy of Dental Hygiene at no cost.
