Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare: Know the Difference

Medicare Advantage plans differ from Original Medicare plans, which CMS offers. Medicare Advantage plans are offered by a private insurer and have benefits not typically included in Original Medicare. These benefits can include:

• Oral evaluations
• Diagnostic imaging
• Cleanings
• Preventive 
• Restorative
• Endodontics
• Oral surgery
• Periodontics
• Prosthodontics

Florida Blue Medicare Advantage includes HMO and PPO medical plans—all have PPO dental embedded.

Providers are paid according to the Medicare Advantage fee schedule.
